Everyone has heard of Mike Posner by now. However, half of everyone still doesn’t know how to pronounce his name right, and still thinks Cooler Than Me is his best song. I will firmly disagree with that statement, but that is for another post.

New Curren$y Mixtape – Verde Terrace

I came across this mixtape on DatPiff the other day. It had over a 100k downloads so naturally I had to check it out. I had never heard of Curren$y before, (Apparently I’ve been wasted b/c he has been releasing a steady flow of albums and mixtapes since 2006.) but was pretty impressed by his beats and flow. Now I know I don’t really have anything to compare it to, given that I haven’t heard his other music, but this mixtape has some awesome unique beats. Great to relax and jam too.

Took a shot in the dark downloading this mixtape; I had never heard of Rip City Rick, but was pretty impressed with his mixtape. He is a white rapper, and kind of reminds me of my bro Mac Miller. Anyway, you really gotta check out his mixtape Head In The Clouds. Its got a lot of chill rap that I can see getting big in the future. So Kid Cudi has been been doing some crazy touring since he released The Legend Of Mr. Rager. I’m a huge Cudi guy but wasn’t really too impressed by the album. Still worth listening too but not my favorite.
Anyway, because he has been touring so much lately (I’m from Chicago and hes been here three times this summer alone.) he hasn’t really put out much new music, so I put together a couple of decent songs/remixes/verses that I have never heard but are pretty solid. A lot are old, but some are new. They put a smile on my face.

New Mac Miller Mixtape – Unreleased

Alright so Mac Miller just ironically released a new mixtape ironically named Unreleased. Its like his fifth mixtape, and tries to follow the success of K.I.D.S. and Best Day Ever. (Get ready, he announced plans to release his first album, Blue Slide Park, this fall.
To be honest, I’m a little disapointed in Mac Miller. I’m probably just being hard on him because I loved his earlier mixtapes so much, but a lot of the music on this tape is remixes, which are good and all, but I like to see more originality.

I found this mixtape like a week ago on datpiff and didn’t bother listening to it until last night. Going through each song, I was very impressed, especially because I had never heard of this guy. I looked him up on youtube, and apparently the rest of you are in the same boat I am. The most views any of the videos had was like 70..
So let me say, this is pretty awesome mixtape. It gets 4 out of 5 stars from me.
